You’ve decided on the type of pump station you need, and you’ve approved the design. Now, it’s time to move forward with the installation. How can you ensure a smooth and complication-free installation process?
At Groundsource Drainage, our engineers have years of experience in successful pump station installations. Here, we outline what to expect during this phase of your pump station life cycle, how to prepare for it, and share our top tips for avoiding costly and time-consuming problems.
Our team boasts extensive experience in designing and installing drainage systems for both private and public sector projects. We strictly adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, ensuring a smooth process from start to finish. Our goal is to provide reliable, high-quality drainage solutions that meet our clients’ specific needs.
Once the pump station chambers are constructed, a member of our contracts team will conduct a prestart meeting to ensure the chambers are ready for installation. Any required adjustments will be addressed at this stage. After confirming everything is in order, we will schedule the first fix.
The first fix involves installing the pipework, valves, and earth bonding. If the valve chamber drain needs to be cast in the valve chamber base, it will also be installed at this point.
After the pipework installation, the following tasks will be completed:
Once the first fix is complete, the second fix begins. This stage includes installing the pumps and control equipment, pulling through cables, and commissioning the system. If a permanent power supply is unavailable, a return visit will be necessary to complete the commissioning.
Telemetry will then be installed and set up.

We had a major issue with our drain, that was causing major issues. Dean and the team were great, not only going above & beyond, but also being honest, reliable & made sure to get the job done to perfection. Would highly recommend.Posted on Google Rebecca Noyes19 May 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dean and the team were excellent from start to finish. They recently installed a new pump station and water treatment plant for us after our previous system collapsed, and I genuinely couldn’t recommend them highly enough. They quickly found a pragmatic and cost-effective solution to what was quite a complex problem, making sensible use of the existing drainage wherever possible to help keep costs under control. As is often the case with projects like this, additional complications arose once work began, but at every stage they approached things calmly and professionally, always finding solutions that were practical, proportionate, and clearly well thought through. They were also a pleasure to have on site - considerate of the wider garden and driveway, exceptionally polite, and clearly very knowledgeable without ever taking advantage of the scale of the project. Communication, follow-up, and aftercare have all been excellent too. A trustworthy, dependable, and highly professional team that I would not hesitate to recommend.Posted on Google Tanya Porter8 April 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can highly recommend Ground Source Drainage as they really do know their stuff. I was getting fed up of conmen coming round and telling me about injecting my 200 year old solid walls when I knew this wouldn’t work! Dean from Ground Source Drainage took one look and instantly said “you need a French drain or an ACO system, but the French drain would look more in keeping” this was music to my ears because I was already pretty sure that a French drain would solve the problem permanently as two other people with older buildings had already suggested the idea. Dean and Neil were very professional, worked extremely fast and always made sure that they cleaned up as they worked, and Dean was 100% right the finished job looks absolutely fantastic!Posted on Google Calum Leader28 January 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
